Dorotskyi graduated from the Lviv School for the Blind and the School of Arts in 1995. He later graduated from Lviv University in 2000 and has been a performer in the professional bandura choir “Karpaty” since 1999, while simultaneously working as a history teacher.
He performs traditional kobzar repertoire on the folk bandura, including dumas (“About Oleksii Popovych”), psalms, canticles, Ukrainian folk songs, and works set to the poems of Taras Shevchenko, A. Svidnytskyi, and Ivan Franko.
